Arrest Report 10.20.11

The following information is provided courtesy of Avery County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Joshua Wayne Anderson, 42, arrested Oct. 10 for felony conspiracy, possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursor, possession of methamphetamine.

Melissa Katheryn Bishop, 43, arrested Oct. 10 for harassing phone call.

Natasha Adams Herrick, 35, arrested Oct. 10 for felony conspiracy, possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursor, possession of methamphetamine.

Courtney Todd McAtee, 34, arrested Oct. 10 for felony conspiracy, possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursor, possession of methamphetamine, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of stolen goods, identity theft.

Jeremy John Wells, 40, arrested Oct. 10 for felony conspiracy, possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursor, possession of methamphetamine, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of stolen goods.

Michael Scott Eggers, 44, arrested Oct. 11 for assault on a female, communicating threats.

James H. Hutson, 60, arrested Oct. 11 for contempt.

Tammy Sluder, 41, arrested Oct. 11 for expired inspection sticker, operating vehicle with no insurance.

Patricia Gail Trice, 40, arrested Oct. 11 for driving while license revoked.

Nancy Ann Sanabria, 52, arrested Oct. 12 for driving while impaired, driving left of center.

Matthew Lynn Morgan, 36, arrested Oct. 13 for possession of controlled substance on prison/jail premises.

Melissa Kathrine Bishop, 43, arrested Oct. 14 for communicating threats, harassing phone call.

Bobbie Niranda Stanley, 23, arrested Oct. 14 for probation violation.

Timothy Hale Holden, 57, arrested Oct. 15 for intimidating a witness.

Jason Matthew Gross, 34, arrested Oct. 34 for civil contempt.

Sheriff’s Report
The following information was provided courtesy of Avery County Sheriff’s Office.
Wanted in several states
On Oct. 10, officers with Avery County Sheriff’s Office charged four people with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. The arrests came after officers approached a vehicle with an out-of-state tag in the parking lot of CVS in Newland. The four arrested people are identified as Jeremy Wells, 40, of Spartanburg, S.C.; Joshua Anderson, 42, of Westminister, S.C.; Natasha Herrick, 35, of Seneca, S.C.; and Courtney McAtee, 34, of Spartanburg, S.C. Wells and McAtee have outstanding charges in Buncombe County. The Carter County, Tenn. Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in in which the four are suspects. Avery Sheriff’s Office is working with law enforcement in the state of Kentucky, where one of the four may be a suspect in passing forged checks.
Stand off
On Oct. 13, officers with Avery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Grassy Prong Road off Roseboro Road. The officers were doing a welfare check on a resident in the area. On arrival, the officers encountered Patrick Kelly, 35, of Marion. Kelly was wanted for charges of indecent liberties with a minor in McDowell County. Kelly went inside the residence and refused to come out after deputies arrived. Deputies received information earlier that firearms were inside the residence. Officers surrounded the house and talked with Kelly for about 1.5 hours before he gave surrendered. He was transported to McDowell County Jail.  
Booze It and Lose It
Avery County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens of the upcoming North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Halloween “Booze It and Lose It” campaign. Officers with Avery County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the campaign. The campaign will begin Oct. 28 and will end Oct. 31.
