Ramsey and Wellnitz wed

Karla Marie Ramsey of Banner Elk and Joshua Damian Wellnitz of Augusta, Ga., were married in an outdoor ceremony at the Art Cellar in Banner Elk at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2012. The Rev. Bud Howell officiated. 

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Sandy Moon Ramsey of Banner Elk. Her grandparents are Bob and Helen Ramsey of Banner Elk and the late S.Q. and Irene Moon of Lexington. She received a bachelor of fine arts in scenic art at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and is a scenic artist with Tait Towers in Litiz, Penn. 

The groom is the son of Dianne Johns of Aiken, S.C., and William Wellnitz of Rochester, Minn. His grandparents are Artie and the late John Anderson of Decatur, Ga., and the late Harvey and Dorothy Wellnitz of Gary, Ind. He received a bachelor of fine arts in lighting and tech direction at University of Colorado, Boulder, and is the lead carpenter with Atomic Design in Litiz, Penn. 

The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Kristen Moon Hopson of Newland. The maid of honor was Meg Kelly of New York City, and the bridesmaids were Samantha Peters Hundley of Newland and Ashley Taylor Rutledge of Durham. The best man was Nabil Schear of Boston, Mass., and the groomsmen were the groom’s brother Shane Meador of Asheville and Roger Bridges of Takoma Park, Md. and Joel Johnson of Vienna, Va. 

After a brief honeymoon in Hot Springs, the couple will reside in Lancaster, Penn.
