Willis achieves certified Park and Recreation Professional certification

Robbie Willis, director of Avery County Parks and Recreation, recently achieved the National Recreation and Park Association’s Certified Park and Recreation Professional status. The CPRP is the most sought-after certification in the park and recreation profession. Willis took the certification exam while at the NRPA Congress and national convention in Atlanta, Ga.

Through national certification, Willis has joined a nationwide group of recreation professionals who are committed to fostering the highest standards of ethical and professional practice in the delivery of park and recreation programs and services. While acknowledging a lifelong devotion to the profession, the certification demonstrates a commitment to the enhanced quality of parks and recreation services nationwide.

The Certified Parks and Recreation Professional standard also recognizes ones accomplishments in the field while attaining strict national standards. CPRPs are also committed to expanding their skills and knowledge through continuing professional development throughout their careers.
