Avery Middle School faculty and staff performed for students to kick off their annual Survivor event, which is designed to get students actively involved in a schoolwide competition that will improve both their enthusiasm and preparation for the upcoming end-of-grade testing.
This year, the competition takes on a basketball theme, with teachers facing off by grade level in a series of games that would kick off months of competition between students of different classes and grade levels. As they have for the past several years, the teachers also entertained their students with an over-the-top choreographed dance.
