Annual Winter Christmas Tree and Ornamental Workshop January 27

Avery County Cooperative Extension Center in cooperation with Mitchell County Cooperative Extension Center will host the annual Winter Christmas Tree and Ornamental Workshop at Mayland Community College Campus’ Sam's Auditorium in Spruce Pine from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. 

Topics of discussion will include boxwood blight, 2011 elongate hemlock scale trials and 2011 alternatives to Round-Up chemical mowing trials.

The workshop has been approved for three pesticide credit hours in sub-classes: L-Ornamentals and Turf; N-Demonstration and Research; O-Agriculture Pest Plant; D-Dealer; and X-Private Applicators.
