Arts and crafts take center stage in Banner Elk at Fine Art and Craft Show
More than 60 artists will showcase their handmade works, including potters, painters, photographers, weavers, quilters, jewelry, clothing makers and furniture makers.
Attendees can look forward to all sorts of fine jewelry, including beaded, crystal and wire-wrap necklaces and earrings, 14-karat gold pieces, metal and stone cuffs, rings and necklaces and glass pendants, all in various styles and sizes.
“We’re going to have artists coming in with strictly handmade work from across the country,” said Pat Fay, owner of Mountain Top Promotions and host of the show. “Many of the artists are award winners and among the best in their respective fields. It’s a great time for people to visit the show as the season is just beginning.”
Photographers from Georgia and Tennessee will display landscape scenes from across the country that are available for purchase, as well as broom maker Larry Counts from Cleveland, Va., who will be onsite creating handmade household brooms. Mike Willis of Greeneville, Tenn. will have numerous sizes of cabinets available, in addition to sellers of rustic furniture items such as benches and end tables. The Larson family from Banner Elk will have their custom furniture on sale to the public that day, including desks, shelving and corner pieces. High Country Authors will also be among the individuals with items for sale. Snack vendors will be available onsite.
“Whether you are trying to find something unique for your house, or a gift for someone watching your pet, come and start your season off with our show,” Fay added.
