Beech Mountain Community Club is proud to announce that our SurPRIZES with Santa will be held starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. Our dear friend, Cyclone Brett, will serve as master of ceremonies. All of the children in our community will receive a special gift from Santa. Come out, and enjoy a fun filled night for the entire family.

Beech Mountain Community Club would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ted Harmon for the beautiful Christmas tree that he donated to the community center.

With the Christmas holiday season upon us, many of the area churches will be having special Christmas pageants and musicals that the entire family can enjoy. Fall Creek Baptist Church will be having its Christmas play starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. Flat Springs Baptist Church will be having its Christmas musical starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16. Beech Valley Baptist Church will be having its Christmas musical starting at noon on Sunday, Dec. 23, with dinner afterwards. Everyone is invited to attend these upcoming events. Avery County Shrine Club will host its Christmas party at Times Square Diner starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10.

There are many fun and exciting activities going on at Beech Mountain Community Center. Beech Mountain Community Club offers craft classes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday. Some of the crafts that you will have the opportunity to learn include quilting, sewing, making handbags and rug hooking. They also offer canning and jelly and jam making classes. Everyone who is participating is encouraged to bring a covered dish. Our gym is open for walking from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Our lending library and community closet is open from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. They have jewelry making classes available starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Crocheting and rug hooking classes are available starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Line dancing classes are available at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. We also have many new clothing and household items in our community closet. Come on out, and enjoy everything that Beech Mountain Community Center has to offer.

Beech Mountain Community Club needs volunteers for its lending library, children’s library, craft center and community closet.
