Grandfather Mountain to host 88th annual Singing on the Mountain Sunday

Those seeking an outlet to celebrate their Christianity will have an opportunity this Sunday. MacRae Meadows of Grandfather Mountain will host the 88th annual Singing of the Mountain, a gospel music convention. The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. this Sunday, June 24, and last until mid-afternoon. There will be a mid-day break for the delivery of the message by the speaker. Admission is free as the event continues to follow the motto of “Whosoever will may come.”

This year’s Singing on the Mountain speaker is Appalachian State University Head Football Coach Jerry Moore. The artists performing this year include The Greens, The Cockman Family, The Primitive Quartet, Crystal River, Michael Combs, The Freemans Redeemed Trio, Melody Trio, Wayne Henderson, Shirley Simpson, Clay Lunsford and Amantha Mill.
