Toe River Arts Council presents Music in the Mountains Folk Festival Saturday
The 27th annual Music in the Mountains Folk Festival takes place at Burnsville Town Center starting at 5:30 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 29. Dedicated to the preservation of mountain music and culture, the festival will honor Steve and Wayne Ledford for their contributions to old-time music.
As one of the most well attended events of the year for TRAC, this year’s festival line-up will feature old-time musicians Will Ritter and Ray Dellinger, Trevor and Travis Stuart, Herman Coffee and Green Grass Cloggers.
“It’s going to be an evening of knee-slapping music, great stories and toe-tapping dancing you won’t want to miss,” said TRAC’s Kate Groff.
Food and refreshments will be available. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for students and seniors above age 65. Save $2 by buying tickets in advance at the Burnsville or Spruce Pine TRAC galleries through Friday, Sept. 28.
Toe River Arts Council, through a Grassroots Art Grant from North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, sponsors Music in the Mountains Folk Music Festival.
