Trivette and Ford prevail in Avery Parks and Rec cornhole tournament

The team of Reid Trivett and Gary Ford of Elizabethton, Tenn. (team name: The Old Timers) took home $40 for being victorious at last week’s cornhole tournament, held Saturday, Nov. 10, at Avery Parks and Recreation Rock Gym in Newland. Tyler Singleton of Newland and Jason Lisk of Boone (team name: The Cornholios) won the second-place prize of $10.

Five two-person teams competed for cash prizes, while $50 was raised to benefit Avery County Parks and Recreation.
