The following cases were heard in Avery County Criminal District Traffic Court April 4 with the Honorable Judge William Leavell presiding. Britt Springer prosecuted.

 

            Clayton Howard Adams (waiv); (m) consuming alcohol under age 19; pled guilty, found guilty; $133 court costs.

            Matthew G. Eller (waiv); (m) consuming alcohol by person age 19/20; pled guilty, found guilty; $25 fine, $133 court costs.

            Jesse Lovell Laws (waiv); (m) possessing marijuana up to .5 ounce; pled guilty, granted prayer for judgment; $133 court costs; charge of (m) possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

            Scott Stanley (ret. J. Seegers); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 6 months unsupervised probation; $100 fine, $143 court costs, $250 restitution.

            Randy K. Wacha (waiv); (m) possessing marijuana up to .5 ounce; pled guilty, granted prayer for judgment; $133 court costs; charge of (m) possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

The following cases were heard in Avery County Domestic Violence Court April 6 with the Honorable Judge Ted McEntire presiding. Meredith Roberts prosecuted.

 

            Julio Bravo (ret. C. Whittle); (m) assault with a deadly weapon; pled guilty, granted prayer for judgment; $133 court costs.

 

The following orders for arrest for failure to appear were issued:

 

            Adam McDaniel, (m) assault on a female.

 

The following cases were heard in Avery County Criminal District Traffic Court April 7 with the Honorable Judge Ted McEntire presiding. Britt Springer prosecuted.

 

            Dennis William Carlsen (ret. G. McKinney); (m) resisting a public officer; pled not guilty, found guilty; $100 fine, $133 court costs; (m) consuming alcohol by person age 19/20; pled not guilty, found not guilty.

            Anthony Clyde Catoe (ret. T. Speed); driving while impaired; pled not guilty, found guilty; 12 months unsupervised probation; $200 fine, $136 court costs, $225 restitution.

            Comey Johnson Harris (ret. J. Seegers); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 24 months unsupervised probation; $200 fine, $143 court costs, $20 restitution.

            Robert W. Hedrick (apt. J. Seegers); (F) breaking and/or entering; pled guilty, found guilty; (F) breaking and/or entering a motor vehicle; pled guilty, found guilty; 24 months supervised probation; $133 court costs, $12.59 restitution.

            Adrian V. Jorez (apt. L. Pfaff); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 30 days active sentence.
