The following cases were heard in Avery County Criminal District Traffic Court Feb. 17 with the Honorable Judge Alexander Lyerly presiding. Britt Springer prosecuted.

 

            Shawn James Aldridge (apt. P.W. Glidewell); (m) simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance; pled guilty, found guilty; $100 fine, $133 court costs, $100 restitution; charge of (m) possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

            Dustin John Barnett (apt. B. Harrison); (m) breaking and/or entering; pled guilty, found guilty; 24 months unsupervised probation; $100 fine, $133 court costs, $210 restitution; charge of  (m) being intoxicated and disruptive was dismissed.

            Randy Allen Benfield (waiv); (m) consuming alcohol by a person under 19; pled guilty, found guilty; $50 fine, $133 court costs.

            Dustin Eli Finley (apt. B. Radford); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 30 days active sentence; charge of (m) simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance was dismissed.

            Jarret Edward Fleharty (apt. L. Pfaff); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 12 months unsupervised probation; $200 fine, $143 court costs, $250 restitution.

Benjamin C. Griggs (waiv); (m) possessing marijuana up to .5 ounce; pled guilty, found guilty; $100 fine, $133 court costs.

            Dwight Lee Sutton (apt. L. Pfaff); driving while impaired; 12 months supervised probation; $200 fine, $14 court costs, $300 restitution.

            Rebecca Faye Watson (ret. P.W. Glidewell); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 12 months supervised probation; $200 fine, $143 court costs, $250 restitution.

Susan Hope Lachance (apt. J. Seegers); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; 12 months unsupervised probation; $200 fine, $143 court costs, $195 restitution; charge of (m) second-degree trespassing was dismissed.
