The following cases were heard in Avery County Superior Court March 7 with the Honorable Judge Marvin P. Pope, Jr. presiding. Britt Springer prosecuted.

 

            Gregory Scott Levy (apt. B. Radford); (F) possession of cocaine; pled guilty, found guilty; (F) aggravated possession of a schedule I controlled substance; pled guilty, found guilty; 30 months supervised probation; $1,000 fine, $253.50 court costs, $600 restitution; charge of (m) possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

            David Keith Langley (apt. J. Seegers); (F) possession of stolen goods or property; pled guilty, found guilty; 36 months supervised probation; $1,000 fine, $253.50 court costs, $3,100 restitution; charges of (F) breaking and/or entering, (F) larceny and (m) possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

            April Bland Wood (apt. M. Holmes); (F) possession of stolen goods or property; pled guilty, found guilty; six to eight months active sentence; (F) possession of methamphetamine; pled guilty, found guilty; 30 months supervised probation; charges of (F) breaking and/or entering, (F) larceny and (m) possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

            Billie Steele (apt. P.W. Glidewell); (F) common law robbery; pled guilty to a lesser charge, found guilty of (m) larceny; 120 days active sentence.

            Jeffrey Caudle (waiv); (F) probation violation; probation revoked.

            James R. Hughes (apt. S. Cheuvront); (F) probation violation; probation revoked.

            Patrick M. Mays, III (apt. S. Aldous); (F) breaking and/or entering a motor vehicle; pled guilty, found guilty; 30 months supervised probation; $1,000 fine, $253.50 court costs, $4,222.67 restitution; charge of (F) larceny was dismissed.

The following orders for arrest for failure to appear were issued:

 

            Joshua E. Comstock, driving while impaired.

 

The following cases were heard in Avery County Domestic Violence Court March 9 with the Honorable Judge Greg Horne presiding. Meredith Roberts prosecuted.

 

            Santos V. Hernandez (apt. J. Seegers); (m) assault on a female; pled not guilty, found not guilty; charges of (F) assault by strangulation, (m) communicating threats and (m) assault with a deadly weapon with minor present were dismissed.

The following cases were heard in Avery County Criminal District Traffic Court March 10 with the Honorable Judge William Leavell presiding. Britt Springer prosecuted.

 

Aleeshia Marie Fisher (ret. S. Casey); driving while impaired; pled not guilty, found guilty; 6 months unsupervised probation; $100 fine, $143 court costs, $250 restitution.

Christopher D. Harmon (ret. S. Casey); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; six months unsupervised probation; $100 fine, $143 court costs, $250 restitution.

            Adam Gerome Hatch (ret. K. Rigsby); (m) possession of drug paraphernalia; pled guilty, found guilty; 30 days active sentence; charges of (m) being intoxicated and disruptive, (m) simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and (m) going armed to the terror of the people were dismissed.

            Anthony Ross Monroe (ret. G. McKinney); driving while impaired; pled guilty, found guilty; six months unsupervised probation; $100 fine, $143 court costs, $250 restitution.

            Jean Taylor-Todd (waiv); (m) larceny; pled not guilty, found guilty; six months supervised probation; $1,500 fine, $143 court costs.
