The following case was heard in Avery County Domestic Violence Court March 23 with the Honorable Judge Alexander Lyerly presiding. Meredith Roberts prosecuted.

 

            Hilario E. Garcia (apt. B. Radford); (m) assault on a female; pled not guilty, granted prayer for judgment.

 

The following cases were heard in Avery County Superior Administrative Court March 24 with the Honorable Judge C. Phillip Ginn presiding. Britt Springer prosecuted.

 

            Abby Lynn Buchanan (apt. L. Pfaff); (F) possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule IV controlled substance; pled guilty to a lesser charge, found guilty of (m) simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance; 12 months supervised probation.

            Lori H. Carter (apt. J. Seegers); (F) trafficking opium or heroin; pled guilty to a lesser charge, found guilty of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule III controlled substance; 36 months supervised probation; $253.50 court costs, $600 restitution.

            Cale Ralph Day (apt. S. Cheuvront); (F) possession of methamphetamine; pled guilty, found guilty; (F) possession of cocaine; pled guilty, found guilty; 24 months supervised probation; $200 fine, $253.50 court costs, $600 restitution; charges of (F) possession of a schedule II controlled substance and (m) possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.           

Daniel Lee Ketron (apt. B. Radford); (F) probation violation; probation revoked.

Valerie Gray Saylor (apt. S. Aldous); (F) obtaining property by false pretense; pled guilty, found guilty; 52 months supervised probation; $253.50 court costs, $72.46 restitution; charges of (F) forgery of instrument and (F) uttering forged instrument were dismissed.

            James Howard Sparks, III (ret. T. Speed); (F) possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance; pled guilty to a lesser charge, found guilty of (m) simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance; 24 months supervised probation; $253.50 court costs, $740 restitution.

James C. West (ret. G. McKinney); (m) possession of drug paraphernalia; pled guilty, found guilty; 18 months supervised probation; $200 fine, $253.50 court costs; charge of (F) possession of methamphetamine was dismissed.
