Quake 2.0 the Aftershock training exercise simulates emergency response

An all-hazards regional training exercise event entitled Quake 2.0: The Aftershock took place in Spruce Pine on Saturday, April 27. 

Training exercises included multiple organizations and entities, including IMT positions, fire officials, hazardous materials, search and rescue teams, medical personnel, hospitals, nursing, EMS, public health, mass care, agriculture, law enforcement, communications and emergency management teams from Avery and surrounding counties, in addition to multiple state agencies.
