High Country music fans will be treated to a pair of talented local groups at the stages of Newland Riverwalk Concert Series and Banner Elk Concerts in the Park this week.

Wolf Creek returns to the stage at Banner Elk Concerts in the Park

Banner Elk Concerts in the Park welcomes Wolf Creek at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 11, at Tate-Evans Town Park’s stage behind Bank of America on Highway 194.

While strongly acoustic based, the music of Wolf Creek is augmented with the punch and power of drums and electric bass, along with the twang of the Telecaster, flavoring the music with the classic West Coast sounds of Buck Owens and the Outlaw Country sound, such as Waylon Jennings. Combining these elements with the many other styles each of these players bring to the group, Wolf Creek creates a sound which is unique and fresh, yet classic and timeless.
