ACS honors volunteer Olin Brinkley

Volunteers are those servants who show up everyday, ready to do whatever needs to be done and never ask for a return on their time. This describes Olin Brinkley, a volunteer at Avery Middle School for more than 17 years. Brinkley, a former Avery County student, started volunteering at Newland Elementary when he was 16 years old. He eventually moved to AMS, and has become a favorite among students and staff.

Lucy Johnson, AMS cafeteria manager said, “Olin is faithful, showing up for work everyday. We appreciate his helpful attitude. He makes everybody smile.”

Tammy Woodie, ACS director of child nutrition, said, “Olin is a pleasure to have in our school cafeteria. We have been very blessed by his service to our Child Nutrition Department.”
