Avery Christmas trees saturate United States

Every holiday season, an estimated 1 million Christmas trees in Avery County make their way into living rooms, businesses and town squares throughout the U.S. and beyond. According to the North Carolina Christmas Tree Association, the state supplies 19 percent of Christmas trees in the U.S.

Avery County Christmas trees have gone to some remarkable places, including the Vice President’s home last year. NCCTA Executive Director Jennifer Greene reports that this year the High Country provided the Capitol building in Raleigh with trees and wreaths as well as a tree for the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
