Chamber Open House January 24

Avery County Chamber of Commerce staff and board of directors invite current and potential business members to attend its 5th annual Open House from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at the chamber office, located at Tynecastle Shoppes at the intersection of highways 105 and 184.

“We look forward to our first After Hours event of the New Year,” Chamber Executive Director Sue Freeman said. “We value our members, and this is one way for the Avery Chamber to thank our members and let them know how much the support means to us and the community.”

Each year the chamber holds its Open House to extend its appreciation to active members, as well as to afford member businesses the opportunity to network with one another to promote their services in a festive atmosphere. Open House is also a prime time for local businesses currently not aligned with Avery County Chamber of Commerce the avenue to make the decision to be part of an engine that champions more than 340 local businesses across Avery.

“This is a great opportunity for our members to meet the 2013 Board of Directors, as well as our Avery County Commissioners,” Freeman added. “Attendees can hear firsthand what the chamber’s marketing initiatives will be for the upcoming year.”

Members will enjoy appetizers and beverages supplied by local businesses, and businesses are asked to bring their newest rack cards and information for display at the chamber office.

As an added perk, members will kickoff 2013 with a 10-percent discount off primary business annual dues.
