Graham To Keep Family Tradition Alive at Singing on the Mountain

Sherrie Norris / (

Will Graham is keeping a family tradition alive in more ways than one as he takes the podium for the keynote address shortly after noon this Sunday, June 23, during Grandfather Mountain’s 89th annual Singing on the Mountain.

Graham will represent the third generation of his family to deliver the midday sermon at the long-standing outdoor gospel event near Linville.

Graham told the Watauga Democrat that the opportunity to be a part of the event is special to him “for a couple different reasons.”

“It is always a unique blessing when I get to follow in the footsteps of my dad (Franklin Graham), or grandfather (Billy Graham), who have both spoken as part of this great tradition on Grandfather Mountain — my dad in 1993 and 1999, and my grandfather in 1962," Graham said.
