High Water

Heavy rains triggered floods Sunday, May 5, leading to 141 call to Avery County Communications requesting assistance in the 16-hour period from 6 p.m. on Sunday to 10 a.m. the next morning officials said.
Jamey Johnson, communications director for Avery county said additional call for informaion on road closings and water levels left the total calls to Avery County Communications at more than 300.
