Local tourism takes center stage with upcoming summit

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Avery County Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a Tourism Summit, held at Best Western Mountain Lodge in Banner Elk. This inaugural event, sponsored in conjunction with Grandfather Mountain, Mayland Community College Small Business Center and Avery County government, will help attendees discover the benefits of tourism and how it impacts Avery County and its communities.
