Soil and Water contest winners recognized in region

Winners from Avery County Soil and Water Conservation District’s poster, essay and speech contests went on to place in the larger regional contest for Area II Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
David McCollum took second place in the fourth-grade poster contest. McCollum attends Riverside Elementary and his parents are Nate and Martha McCollum of Newland.
