Cora Louise Pittman
Cora Louise Pittman, 88, of Newland,
passed away on Feb. 22, 2013, in Roan Mountain, Tenn.
A native of
Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ella Fair
Singleton. She was retired from Glen Raven in Newland, and was a
member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lonzo Hughes and
Stewart Pittman; brothers, Robert, Enlow, Earl, and Ray Singleton;
sisters, Hazel Greene, Bessie Carpenter, Mary Wright, Edith Love,
Mildred Carpenter.
She leaves behind her step-children, Dianne
Lunsford and her husband, Kenny, of Heaton, Charles Pritchard and his
wife, Anita, of Frank; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services for Pittman were held 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, in the
Grandfather Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Lance officiating. The
family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Slippery Hill Cemetery.
