Cordelia Dellinger Kidder
Cordelia Dellinger Kidder, 90, of
Crossnore passed away on March 5, 2013, at Life Care Center of Banner
Elk.
A native of Avery County, she was born Oct. 20, 1922, a
daughter of the late Theron Colbert and Lena Sloop Dellinger.
She
was a member of Crossnore Presbyterian Church where she served as an
Elder.
Kidder enjoyed gardening and geology and was very
instrumental in her husband's archaeological work.
Along with her
parents, Kidder was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Laura
Stewart, Ruth Palmer Loper; brother, William Colbert
Dellinger.
Kidder has left to cherish her memory her husband, J.
Edward Kidder of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, David D. and
Jane Kidder of Freeport, Maine, Jonathan E. and Pamela Kidder, of
Wake Forest, Paul M. and Terry Kidder of Atlanta, Ga., James H. and
Melanie Kidder of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Mary Agnes Smith of
Orlando, Fla., Rachel Deal of Crossnore; 10 grandchildren; and one
great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for Kidder will be announced
at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to
Crossnore Presbyterian Church Window Project.
