He was born, Dec. 23, 1945 in Watauga County, a son of the late Carl and Louise Shook Rupard.
Dale was a member of the Linville Evangelical Methodist Church and enjoyed antique cars and fishing.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by: his sisters, Ernestine Rupard and Claudine Trivette.
A loving daddy, pawpaw and husband who loved and cared about his family, Dale has left to cherish his memory his wife, Della Rupard; children, Penny and John Hicks, Tammy and William Costner, Kenny and Lori Hicks, Eric and Laura Hicks; grandchildren, Codie, Kayla and husband Mark, Jessie and husband, Chad, Josh and wife, Lacey, Thomas, Victor; three great grandchildren; siblings, Norma Jean Phillips, Dayton Rupard and wife, Judy, JoAnn Sanders, Larry Rupard and wife, Gail, Shelby Mitchell; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Audrey Rominger.
Funeral services for Dale Rupard were conducted 8 p.m Friday, Oct. 19, 2012,. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Harper officiating. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour. Family, friends and pallbearers met at the funeral home at 10 a.m Saturday, Oct. 20.2012, to go in procession to the Cannon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Townsend, Tony Trivette, Howard Townsend, Barnette Harmon, Greeley Sturgill, Shane Caudill; honorary pallbearers were: Burle Townsend, Ken Goins.
