Danny Charles Sheppard
Danny Charles Sheppard, 51, of the
Three Mile Community, was called home by his Heavenly Father on
February 10, 2013 from his residence.
A native of Avery County, he
was born Feb. 13, 1961, a son of Madeline Palmer Sheppard of Newland
and the late Rev. Collis Sheppard.
Sheppard attended Temple
Baptist Church and enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, hunting,
gardening and wood working, but most of all sharing his love for his
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Along with his father, Sheppard was
preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sheppard.
Sheppard has left
to cherish his memory, along with his mother, his wife, Dulcey
Whitson Sheppard of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and
Dan Price of Pineola; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Catie
Sheppard of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Rita Boger of Salisbury,
Brenda Rupard and husband, Tommy, of Woodleaf, Barbara Shook and
husband, Lynn, of Cleveland, Kathy Shook of Salisbury, Elizabeth
Turbyfill and husband, Michael, of Banner Elk, Loretta Daniels and
husband, Rex, of Newland, Anita Goforth and husband, Keith, of Banner
Elk, Libby Brown and husband, Cecil, of Newland; brother, Stanley
Sheppard and wife, Liz, of Newland; father and mother-in-law, Roy and
Nancy Whitson of Green Mountain; very special sisters-in-law,
brothers-in-law and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
Funeral services for Danny Charles Sheppard were
conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Temple Baptist
Church, officiated by the Rev. Keith Gwyn, the Rev. Gene Carver and
the Rev. Timothy Rupard. Interment followed in the Palmer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Rupard, Sam Davis, Jamie Blair, Roger Whitson,
Donald Whitson, Randy Carver, Larry Carver. Honorary pallbearer was
Ricky Hodges. The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.
12, 2013, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
