David Lee Winebarger

Mr. David Lee Winebarger, 54, of Cow Camp Road, Newland, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Watauga Medical Center.

Born Feb. 6, 1959, in Adrian, Mich., he was a son of the late Nick and Gertrude Turbyfill Winebarger. Winebarger worked at Mountain View Correctional Institute and was a member of the Linville Central Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Ward Winebarger; two sons, W. L. Winebarger and wife, Jessica, of Newland, and Shawn Aldridge and wife, Catherine, of Deep Gap; two grandchildren, Emma and Coby Aldridge; four brothers, Buddy and Allan Winebarger, both of Newland, Bruce Winebarger of Marion and Bobby Winebarger of Burnsville; one sister, Brenda Stanley of Newland; and his mother-in-law, Ella Mae Ward of Vilas; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy, Evelyn and Tina Winebarger.

Services for Winebarger will be held at a later date. The family respectfully requests no flowers and suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
