Dorothy Lynn Church Brown

Dorothy Lynn Church Brown, 55, of Nebo, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012, at her residence. A native of McDowell County, Brown was born January 6, 1957, and was a daughter of Lee Church of Marion and the late Bernice Lee Webb Church. Brown was a very beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and she loved her family very much. She enjoyed her pet dogs and working with her flowers. Preceding Mrs. Brown in death was a brother, Jerry Church.

Surviving Mrs. Brown, in addition to her father, is her husband, Terry Brown of the home; six children, Renee Mathis and husband Chris of Swannanoa, Sandra Webb and husband Travis of Marion, Bruce Flynn and wife, Mandy of Marion, Terrie Johnson and husband, Danny, of Nebo, David Flynn and wife, Kara, of Newland and Nora Johnson of the home; three sisters, Wanda Shelton and Mary Church of Marion and Susie Robinson of Rutherfordton; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m.Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Westmoreland Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ginger Cake Cemetery in Avery County. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brown Family, 179 Emma Grace Drive, Nebo, N. C. 28761.
