Eileen M Hill

Eileen M. Hill, 87, a long time resident of Gettysburg, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the Gettysburg Hospital.

Hill was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Ingalls, the daughter of the late C. C. (Carr) and Lois Dellinger Childs. Her husband C. Kenneth Hill died in 1988.

Hill was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Gettysburg. During WWII she worked at the Blue Ridge Rubber Factory in Littlestown, Pa., and later for a number of years she was employed at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was a member of the Barlow Homemakers Association. Hill enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading the newspapers and feeding her birds but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Hill is survived by a son, Phillip C. Hill and his wife, Melody, of Gettysburg; a daughter, Claudia E. McGough, and her husband, Timothy, of Gettysburg; three grandchildren, Carole Hill of Gettysburg, Matthew Hill and wife, Angela, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Benjamin Hill and wife, Erin, of Indianapolis, Ind.; five great-grandchildren, A. Maison Hill, E. Marshall Hill, A. Charlotte Hill, Hanaleigh Hill, and Harrison Hill. She was predeceased by a brother, Sandy Childs.

Funeral services will be held, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Memorial Baptist Church, 1096 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, with her pastor the Rev. Steven Baker officiating. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. There will be a viewing at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and one 10 a.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
