Ethel Alberta Winters

Ethel Alberta Winters, 88, of Elk Park passed away on June 29, 2013, at the Life Care Center in Banner Elk.
A native of Avery County, she was born April 22, 1925, a daughter of the late Henry Laws and Maggie Keller Laws.
She a member of the Heaton Christian Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Onard Grover Winters; sisters, Edith Odom, Opal Stout; brothers, Estel Laws, Gene Laws, George Laws, and William "Deck" Laws.
Winters has left to cherish her memory her sons, Calvin Winters, and his wife, Carol, of Elk Park, Dennis Winters, and his wife, Celia, of Shallotte; sister, Virgie Smith of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; brothers, Delmer Laws, and his wife, Sue, of Elk Park, Millard Laws, and his wife, Wanda, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; sister in law, Mary Lou Laws of Elizabethton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Winters will be conducted 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from the Grandfather Chapel of the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Cole officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Taylor's Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heaton Christian Church Building Fund PO Box 217 Elk Park, NC 28622.
