Floyd 'Skeeze' Cuthbertson

Floyd "Skeeze" Cuthbertson, 77, of Crossnore, passed away on April 11, 2013, at his residence.
A native of Avery County, he was born May 7, 1935, a son of the late Joseph McKinley and Ruby Franklin Cuthbertson.
He was a member of Crossnore First Baptist Church and had worked as a bricklayer and shrubberyman.
Cuthbertson was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going to Texas and Montana hunting. The Cuthbertson's loved riding on the parkway and looking for deer and turkey and enjoying the "scenic" views.
Along with his parents, Cuthbertson was preceded in death by his sisters, Prudie Hutcheson, Lucille White; brothers, Sam Cuthbertson, Linnie Cuthbertson.
Cuthbertson has left to cherish his memory his wife, Nell Calhoun Cuthbertson of the home; daughters, Deborah Blalock and husband, Bobby, of Montezuma, Kelly Annas of Hickory; granddaughters, Shea Allison Blalock of Robbinsville, Jodie Marie Blalock of Banner Elk, McKinnley Annas of Hickory; a host of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Crossnore First Baptist Church. Funeral services for Cuthbertson were conducted 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Crossnore First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lander Heafner officiating. Interment followed in the Cuthbertson Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Cuthbertson were; Danny Sparks, Rick Wise, Darrell Dellinger, Eddie Hutcheson, Dennis Henson, Bill Howard, Josh Henson, Mike White and Clay Cuthbertson. Honorary pallbearers were Alan Cuthbertson and Dale Henson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossnore First Baptist Church, PO Box 370, Crossnore, NC 28616.
