Howard E. Clark

Howard E. Clark, 79, of Newland, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at his residence. 



He was born July 24, 1932, a son of the late Elbert and Lona V. Coffey Clark. 



Clark served in the U.S. Army during Korea and was a lifetime member of VFW Pat Ray Post #4286. 

He was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church and had worked as a supervisor for U.S. Textiles. 

Along with his parents, a brother, Spencer Clark, preceded Clark in death. 

A very special dad, granddad and brother, who greatly loved all his family and friends, Clark has left to cherish his memory: His wife, Ivalee Clark of the home; sons, Vernon Edward Clark and wife Myrna of Marion, Ronnie Lee Clark of Marion, Melvin Howard Clark of Jonas Ridge, Danny Allan Clark of Jonas Ridge, Brian Keith Clark of Weaverville; brothers, Eugene Clark and wife Janvae of Newland, Paul Dale Clark and wife Esther of Elk Park; sister, Margie Allen and husband Harold of Valdese; very special granddaughter, Crystal K. Clark of Marion; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and family also survive. 



Funeral services for Clark were conducted Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Guinn officiating. Interment followed in Calloway Cemetery with Graveside Rites by the VFW Pat Ray Post #4286. 



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Medi Home Hospice of Avery County, P.O. Box 1357, Newland, N.C. 28657.
