Josie Geneva Shell

Josie Geneva Puckett Shell, 78, of Elk Park passed away, on Dec. 6, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Avery County, she was born, May 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Elijah and Rose Moody Puckett.
She was a homemaker and a member of Heaton Christian Church.
Along with her parents, Shell was preceded in death by her husband, Homer P. Shell Sr.; brothers, George Moody, Bill Puckett; sisters, Lear Puckett, Fannie Guinn, Maxine Puckett.
Shell has left to cherish her memory her daughters, Connie Hoilman and husband, Mike, of Johnson City, Tenn., Sheri Cornett and husband, Larry, of Crossnore, Melissa Baird and husband, Randy, of Elk Park; sons, Ralph Puckett of the home, Homer James "Jamie" Shell of Newland; step-sons, Homer P. Shell Jr. and wife, Lillian, of Las Vegas, Nev., Eddie Ray Shell and wife, Cathy, of Elk Park; grandchildren, Christina Pearrell, Amy Hoilman, Brandon Baird, Aaron Baird, Estes Shell, Gabe Shell, Alina Shell, James Shell; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hensley, Steven Hensley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Shell will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8,2012, at the Heaton Christian Church with Mr. Brent Nidiffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Heaton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the service hour.
