Keith Charles Entress Sr.

Keith Charles Entress Sr., 64, of Newland, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at his residence. 



He was born May 21, 1947, in Long Island, N.Y., a son of the late Charles and Jeanette Woodlock Entress. 



Entress served in the U.S States Marine Corp during Vietnam and was a member of VFW Pat Ray Post #4286. He is described as a good Semper Fi Marine and a man who loved his country. 

He retired from Old Dominion Freight Lines as a truck driver. 



Entress was a member of Buck Hill Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting, growing flowers, cooking, dogs and horses. 



Entress has left to cherish his memory his: wife, Nelda Vance Entress of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Tammy Entress Jr. of Buck Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Kenneth Jordon of Buck Hill; brothers, Bradley and Karen Entress of Graceville, Fla., Chuck Entress of Modena, N.Y., Wayne Entress of New Platz, N.Y.; granddaughter, Skylar Elrod; a host of extended family. 



Funeral services for Entress were conducted on Sunday, Jan. 8, at Stamey Town Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Hoilman and Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating. Interment followed in Stamey Town Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: VFW Pat Ray Post #4286, P.O. Box 516 Newland, N.C. 28657; or to: Medi Home Hospice of Avery County, P.O. Box 1357 Newland, N.C. 28657.
