Larry Wayne Shook

Larry Wayne Shook, 40, of Banner Elk passed away on September 14, 2012, at his residence.
A native of Avery County, he was born February 7, 1972, a son of Larry Benny and Martha Carolyn Stout Shook of Banner Elk.
He was a member of White Rock Baptist Church.
Shook was the Assistant Store Manager for New River Building Supply for 18 years and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, FSU football, XBox 360 gaming, family vacations and train rides..
He was preceded in death by his: paternal grandfather, Floyd Shook; maternal grandparents, Charlie Tom Stout, Ethel Freeman Stout.
Along with his parents, Larry has left to cherish his memory his wife, Karen M. Shook of the home; step-children, Neil S. Colledge of Tampa, Fla., Kristina N. Muratori of Clearwater, Fla., Anthony M. Muratori of Dunedin, Fla., Matthew V. Muratori of Palm Harbor, Fla.; granddaughter, Nevaeh N. Davis; sister, Christina Shook of Banner Elk; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Shook of Banner Elk; special cousins and friends, Allen Arnett, Steve Griffith, Tammi Greer.
Funeral services for Larry Wayne Shook will be conducted 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 22nd in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Shook, the Rev. John McCoury and the Rev. Jerry McCoury officiating. Interment followed in the Freeman Cemetery. Pall bearers will be; Steve Griffith, Allen Arnett, Sammy Hodges, Frankie Ruppard, Chris Shook, Jim Heaton. The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the American heart Association at 222 S. Church St. Suite 303 Charlotte, NC 28202.
