Margaret Myrick Lehmann

Margaret Ann Myrick Lehmann, 69, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, after a very brief illness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis J. Lehmann of Banner Elk; daughter, Lisa K. Duncan of Denver, Colo.; step-sons, Joel Lehmann of Crescent Beach, Fla., Paul Lehmann (Fabiana) of Banner Elk, Mark Lehmann (Karen) of Trade, Tenn.; sisters, Janie Myrick of Pensacola, Fla., Barbara Myrick Matthews (Sam) of Marietta, Ga., Kathryn Myrick of Pensacola; nephews, Donny Slayton of Spanish Fort, Al., Julie Saykiewicz (Hans) of Pensacola, Robert Slayton (Cathy) of Tallahassee, Fla., and Patrick Kerr (Andrea) of Cumming, Ga., and grandchildren, Catalina, Martin, Sophia, Belle, and Marcus Lehmann.

She is predeceased by her father. John M. Myrick; her mother, Margaret M. White and step-father, Herbert F. White and brother, John M. Myrick.

Lehmann was born in Pensacola, on Sept. 18, 1944. She attended Catholic High School and Pensacola High School and was a member of the first dental hygiene class taught at the former Pensacola Junior College.

She has lived in Banner Elk, for the past 40 years but has also been living in Pensacola part-time. She was a faithful and long-time member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis. She was a member of the choir and served as a member on the Holy Cross Vestry. She was very active volunteering in her church and the local community. She was passionate about life, her family, the beach and those less fortunate. To know her was to love her. Her zest for life and love for all things will live in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at St Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Pensacola, 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013. A memorial service will also be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis, 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013.
