Maxine Trice Presnell
Maxine Trice Presnell, 72, of Newland, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Life Care Center of Banner Elk.
A native of Avery County, she was born Feb. 3, 1940, a daughter of the late Vaughan Thomas and Thosa Johnson Trice.
She had worked at Glen Raven/U.S. Textiles in Newland for 49 years.
Presnell was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she helped with the nursery and Vacation Bible School.
She was a member and Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mistress of the Mountains Chapter 241.
Along with her parents, Presnell was preceded in death by her: Husband, Dale Presnell; and brothers, Robert Trice and Max Trice.
Presnell has left to cherish her memory her: Daughter and son-in-law, Adale and Terry Woodruff of Newland; grandson, Andrew Woodruff and wife, Jennifer of Linville; brother, Charles Trice and wife, Louise of Newland; sister, Corine Eller of Newland. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Presnell were conducted Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Greene officiating. Interment followed in Fork Mountain Cemetery.
