Rev. Burnie King
Rev. Burnie King, 70, of Linville
passed away on Jan. 9, 2013, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
A
native of Avery County, he was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Yancey County,
the son of the late Arthur Alexander and Margaret Dugger King.
King
was a member of Linville Evangelical Methodist Church and had worked
for Grandfather Golf and Country Club as a Landscaper for over 20
years.
He enjoyed listening to music and singing, especially
bluegrass and was an artist.
King has left to cherish his memory
his wife, Eula Owens King of the home; cousin, Stella Cook of Elk
Park; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Rebecca
Ellis of Mississippi.
Funeral services for Burnie King were
conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan.11, 2013, at the Linville Evangelical
Methodist Church with Dr. Ken Harper officiating. Interment followed
in the Tanglewood Cemetery . The family received friends 7 to 9 p.m.
on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the church.
