Terrell Deaton

Terrell Deaton, 63, of Newland, passed away on Nov. 10, 2012, at James H. Quillen VAMC in Johnson City, Tenn.

A native of Avery County, he was born Feb. 7, 1949, a son of the late Nellis Ray and Patria Stout Deaton.

He was a member of the United States Army.

Along with his parents, Deaton was preceded in death by his brothers, Dwight, Harold and Leslie Kent Deaton.

Deatonl has left to cherish his memory his daughter, Lesley Deaton of Crossnore; granddaughter, Jesse Pyatte, of Crossnore; brother, Hayden Deaton and wife, Lois, of Charlotte; former wife, Anita Lowenberg of Fleetwood; sisters-in-law, Sabra Deaton of Trim Branch, Revonda Deaton of Morganton, Claudia Deaton Cook also of Morganton.

A special thank you to his nephews, Travis Deaton and Bob Lynn Deaton, Medi Home Hospice of Avery County, and Community Living Center of Johnson City VAMC for all of their special care and attention. 


Funeral services for Terrell Rodney Deaton will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at the Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Crossnore with the Rev. Lonnie Barnes officiating. Military graveside rites will follow in the Burleson Cemetery.
