Wayne Hicks
Wayne Hicks, 58, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Avery County, he was born Dec. 31, 1953, a son of Lou Ella Johnson Hicks of Morganton and the late Carl Herman Hicks.
He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Along with his father, a son, Darrell Hicks, preceded Hicks in death.
Along with his mother, Hicks has left to cherish his memory his: Wife, Alice Mae Hicks of Erwin, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Allen Jenkins of Newland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Ronnie Tipton of Spruce Pine, Diane and Ricky Sparks also of Spruce Pine; Tammy and Roger Phillips of Elk Park; brothers, David Hick and wife Cindy of Morganton, Jeff Hicks of Johnson City, Tenn. Interment took place Wednesday, Feb. 1, in Gwyn Cemetery.
