Avery High School’s Homecoming football game this Friday, Sept. 21, is guaranteed to end with a bang. Following the conclusion of the game between Avery and Thomas Jefferson, there will be a fireworks show conducted by Cranberry Pyrotechnics. Fans are invited to stay after the game to enjoy the fireworks display in the skies above MacDonald Stadium.

AHS Homecoming Friday

Avery High School will celebrate Homecoming with a parade through Newland this Friday, Sept. 21. Participants in the parade are asked to meet at Newland Town Square at 3 p.m., with the parade beginning at 4 p.m.
No motorcycles or four-wheelers are allowed in the parade. Horses are permitted, but a person must be designated to follow the animal to pick up any waste.
Avery High School football will host Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m., with Homecoming Court, king and queen named at halftime.
