Avery Vikings reboots boys tennis program

Reviving the boys tennis team at Avery High School has been a difficult chore. 
A dearth of experienced players, combined with miserable spring weather, has contributed to the Vikings getting off to a delayed start.
"We were scheduled to begin practice on Feb. 13, but weather did not permit that," AHS boys head tennis coach Reggie Oakes said. "Our first day of practice wasn't until late February. There has been a lot of snow on the courts."
The team continues to work hard when it is able to practice at the outdoor tennis facility on campus, as well as in the several games the club has played thus far this season.
