Avery baseball falls at Mitchell, TJCA

Avery Vikings baseball played a nip-and-tuck contest at Mitchell on Tuesday, April 9, and hung tough on the road at Thomas Jefferson on Thursday, April 11, but the Big Red was unable to pull out victories in either matchup, falling 4-1 to the Mountaineers and dropping a 12-2 loss in six innings to the Gryphons.

Senior right-hander Stetson Stafford got the starting nod for the Vikings against the rival Mountaineers. He issued three walks and surrendered four runs in the first inning against a scrappy Mitchell club.
