Avery soccer drops narrow conference matches to Polk, Madison

Avery soccer continued a stretch of matches against tough competition last week, hosting Polk on Monday, Oct. 14, and traveling to Madison on Wednesday, Oct. 16, falling by final match scores of 2-1 in each contest.

AHS head coach Bruce Daniels explained that the Polk contest was a bit disappointing due to factors his team could have controlled.

"We didn't come out with a lot of intensity and didn't play up to our potential against Polk," Daniels said. "That's what cost us. We didn't start the match strong, and it came back to bite us."
