Avery wrestling holds successful BBQ fundraiser for camp scholarships

Most wrestlers know how to make and eat good food.

Residents of Linville Land Harbor and citizens from across Avery County visited Land Harbor Golf House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, for Avery High School wrestling team's inaugural BBQ dinner fundraiser. Wrestlers, coaches and parents served approximately 275 meals of pork barbecue, slaw, baked beans, tea and homemade desserts on a donation basis as it sought to raise funds to send wrestling team members to ASU Wrestling Camp in Boone this weekend.
