Webb named Conference Carolinas Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
LMC senior pole vaulter Evan Webb has been tabbed Conference Carolinas Indoor Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Mountaineer Open, the conference announced Wednesday, Feb. 12.
Webb earned an individual title in the men’s pole vault with a height of 15-2.25 feet at the Mountaineer Open on Friday, Feb. 7. The senior improved .03 meters from his ninth-place performance last week at the Hilton Garden Invitational.
“Evan has been working very hard and is getting better each week,” Bobcats track & field head coach Ley Fletcher said. “We want him to continue to improve and qualify for nationals.”
Thanks to Webb’s performance, the men’s squad currently sits ninth in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Southeast Regional rankings. The Bobcats have been in the top-10 for two consecutive weeks.
