Despite not having had a single outdoor practice to date, the Avery High School softball team jumped into its schedule this past week with three games in four evenings. Avery traveled to Owen on Tuesday, March 12, falling in its opener by the final score of 14-0.

"The game says a little bit about where we are as a program, when you're satisfied with a 14-0 loss. "Owen is a strong program with several state championships, so we knew they'd be a good team, but we felt good that we were hitting the ball. We seem more aggressive offensively and aren't striking out as much as we might have in the past."
