Lady Vikings tennis wraps season with state dual playoffs

Avery tennis concluded its 2013 season with state dual playoff action at Gray Stone Day High School in Misenheimer last week.

The Lady Vikings battled throughout the match, but fell by a 5-1 match score.

AHS's lone victory came in singles competition, as No. 1 Lindsay Wiseman earned a win against Gray Stone Day No. 1 singles Meghan Hedgepath when Hedgepath retired after winning the first set 6-1 and holding a 1-0 lead in the second set.

Additional Avery players competing in the meet included Savannah Church, Morgan Paris, Keturah Taylor, Destiny Morrison and Ollianne Raney.
