Polsgrove earns 1A state championship in 300-meter hurdles

Avery sophomores Kylie Polsgrove and Abby Roberts competed last week at the 1A Track and Field Championships at Irwin Belk Track at North Carolina A-and-T University in Greensboro. Although she ran hard, Roberts was unable to qualify out of her preliminary heat. 


Polsgrove, who had swept four events at the previous week’s regional championships, finished seventh overall in the 400-meter dash in a time of one minute, two seconds. She captured third overall in the girls high jump event with a distance of four-feet, 10-inches. Polsgrove finished as runner-up in the girls 110-meter hurdles event with a time of 16.37 seconds.
